“I asked the maid in dulcet tone
To order me a buttered scone;
The silly girl has been and gone
And ordered me a buttered scone.”

(Drifte, Collette; Jubb, Mike (2002). A Poetry Teacher’s Toolkit: Rhymes, Rhythms, and Rattles)

Does one pronounce it “skohne” like “tone”… or “skhon” like “gone” ?  Either way is correct, in our opinion, as long as you enjoy it while lingering over a steaming mug of tea. Our Lemon Lavender Scones are delightfully soft, with zesty pops of fresh citrus and herbal notes of culinary lavender. Then we gild the lily with a generous drizzle of lemon glaze for a perfectly balanced sweet treat worthy of silly poetry.
